Professional Hot Tub Electrical Hookups
Getting a new hot tub is exciting, but the electrical hookup is what turns it from a big empty shell into a warm, relaxing escape. And because a hot tub combines water, heat, and 240 volts, that hookup needs to be done exactly right. Sleight Electrical specializes in hot tub and spa wiring for all major brands, installing the dedicated circuit, GFCI-protected disconnect, and proper bonding and grounding required by the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
We work directly with hot tub dealers and homeowners across the Niagara Region to make sure the electrical is ready and waiting when your tub is delivered. No scrambling, no delays. Every installation includes the ESA permit and inspection.
What a Proper Hot Tub Hookup Involves
A hot tub isn't something you simply plug into an existing outlet. Most models require their own dedicated 240V circuit, typically 50A, running from your panel to a GFCI disconnect switch mounted within sight of the tub. From there, a final connection runs to the tub's control pack. Along the way, everything has to be properly bonded and grounded so the whole installation is safe to sit in.
We Check Your Panel First
Before anything else, we confirm your electrical panel can actually support the new load. Adding a 50A hot tub circuit to a panel that's already near capacity can cause problems, so we perform a load assessment up front. If an upgrade is needed, we'll tell you honestly and can handle it as part of the project.
Every Hookup Includes:
- A dedicated 240V circuit sized to your specific tub
- A GFCI-protected disconnect within sight of the tub
- Proper bonding and grounding to code
- A clean, weatherproof wire run from panel to tub
- The ESA permit and inspection
- A tidy, professional finish you'll be proud of
